Frequently asked questions

Let’s get your questions answered

What is a student ambassador?

Student ambassadors are representatives for the gradvisor app from within the university, both digitally and physically. The main aim of the ambassadors is to get the message about gradvisor into the wider student population and increase signups to the app.

How does the student ambassador program work?

Ambassadors can create their own marketing strategy or can follow guidance from the gradvisor team. There are regular opportunities to further develop your skills via mentorship sessions with the gradvisor expert team.  Student ambassadors post regularly on socials and attend events at the university to spread the word to increase app signups by sharing a unique referral code. Ambassadors are paid for their time and get extra cash for the number of referrals that result in app signups.

What sort of tasks might the student ambassador do?

Ambassadors post regularly about the Gradvisor app on social media and engage other students in conversations about the platform at on-campus events, such as society meet-ups, careers fairs, and informal outreach activities. A key part of the role also involves creating short-form content on campus (e.g. filming or photographing student life, study spaces, or events) to be used across Gradvisor’s social media channels, with creative guidance provided by our marketing partners.

Ambassadors are encouraged to plan and lead their own outreach strategy, while receiving ongoing support, resources, and advice from the Gradvisor team.

Who can be a student ambassador?

Anyone that is a university student (in any year or any course) can be a student ambassador for gradvisor. A great student ambassador is someone who enjoys speaking to others and is confident putting themselves out there to represent gradvisor. We are looking for people with influence on campus as well as online.  Of course, if you have an interest in improving social mobility or furthering career development then you've a great fit already.
